Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography can help people to better understand connections between people by showing them how they can use the world or change the world. They can also find maps for places they want to or are traveling to, as well as moving goods and ideas to help solve problems and more, like in Hong Kong, China they have maps of the great wall of China. Location can show you the exact pinpoint location of a destination or place, for example the coordinates of Franklin Ma are 42.0834° N, 71.3967° W . Place can show you the human and physical features of a place, a human feature is a building made by man like an office building, and a physical feature is the grand canyon. Movement can you help analyze the world by moving ideas, delivering/transporting medicine, food and other important goods, it also can help you to travel and see the world, for example in Puerto Rico they move goods by bikes, boats and more . Human environment interaction can help you analyze the world by showing you how to change the world to your needs at the location or you can use them or adapt to them if you are going to be in a place for awhile like how in the amazon river they built their houses in trees to adapt to the environment. Lastly region can help you analyze the world because if you want to go on vacation you could say that you want to go to a cold, arid region or a tropical wet and dry region and then you could go to a place in that region so if you picked a cold, arid region you could go to Nunavut, Canada.
I think the theme that is most difficult to understand is human environment interaction. I think this because there are so many different ways you can show this theme. There is adapt, change and use which are all very similar so it sometimes confuses me.

ReplyDeleteGeorgia, I love your examples in this post. I agree that human environment interactions can be hard to understand. One part I was confused on was the ending, I didn’t quite understand what you were trying to say. I also agree that region can help people when they want to travel, great example. You did an excellent job on your map. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI also think that human environment interactions can be hard to understand. One part that was a little confusing to me is when you were explaining the part about place. One thing I liked on your map is how you put the icons for your map.
ReplyDeleteHi Georgia! Oh my!! Your post was so well thought out and explained, I was blown away!! You explained the 5 themes of geography so well and how they help analyze the world. Your examples were outstanding and I thought that they really showed what the 5 themes meant. One part I would disagree with you on is that you think human environment interactions is the most confusing theme but for me it is region. Other than that, your post was amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHi Georgia! I loved your comment! It was amazing! I agreed with most of the things you explained, especially how you struggle with Human Environment interaction, I also struggle with that topic alot. The only thing that I might say I was confused on was your explaination of region, but overall you did an excellent job with this review.
ReplyDeleteSofie, what I meant when I was explaining region is that regions can be divided by weather/climate so I used that as an example. I can see why you thought that was confusing and I hope I cleared it up for you.
